Sunset in Singapore

The evening view from my home. it is sort of an angle out of the window to view the sun go down.

Moving taxi

This was supposed to be homework shot to take a picture of a moving taxi so that the words will remain in focus and the rest will be blur. It is meant to be a really hard shot, but as all skaters will know how to take this type of shots is to skate with the camera to take pictures of your fellow skater. I was in another taxi when I took this photo.

Old tractor

Margaret River drive, some old tractor area. I can't remember much.
It was a couple of years ago and a really quick drive by shooting.

Camera: Canon 350D

Tree somewhere in Perth

This photo was taken during our Perth tour. I might have taken this shot in a car park while waiting for something or someone. It does look like I'm in the thick of some nature park, but it's just the Margaret River. Photo taken right after the chocolate company and tractor museum.

Old Stadium

The old national stadium which was to be demolished, but guess what, it's still standing. This photo was taken after the closing ceremony. sepia and film grain effect.

A tree in sunlight

Photo taken during a weekend drive down the coast. I thought the trees along the coast looked interesting. Going crazy with the saturation effect in picasa to bring out the green.

Singapore National History Museum

Taken just before the official opening of the museum. An arch in an arch.

Form and shadows

Taken during studio session. Used the soft focus filter and b\w filter and warm effect to give the slight sepia feel. The sepia effect killed the black so I didn't use it.

Camera: Canon 50D with 70-300 Sigma lens.

F1 night race

Not one of the best shots from my series of shots, but its one I managed to get from the rear of the car instead, from flailing my camera in the air while struggling with people around me.The photo is straightened with picasa and removed some of the colour from the enviornment and of course cropped, but I should have kept the aspect ratio.

Notes:
Got the bird in flight overhead during the show
As bad as taking photos of F1 cars and using rocket launchers in Quake

I caught a bee

Location: Ghim Moh Gardens

Technical Details:
50D with Sigma 70-300 mm

Notes:
Taken about 5 meters from subject.
Hand was shaking and focus gone crazy.
Attempted to focus at flower and hoped the bee flew into focus.
Mind you it's a small focus and a higher zoom.

Painting Light

Tristan playing with sparkers and he looked a bit worried with 2. The shot was taken by playing with shutter speed at a lower ISO. This was a hand held shot, so I needed to check that I didn't get too much camera shake and still got the painted light.

Camera: 350D, can't remember the lens.

Shells

I took this in the gold coast outside some public toilet at some beach while waiting for Jody. I thought the ground made an interesting texture so I took a shot. No skill in Program mode. Bright light does wonders.

Spot the bird

Photo taken in New Farm, Brisbane. The trees turn purple during some season I think, I can't remember if there were ever green, because this was the only time I brought my camera and wasn't carrying groceries. Shot taken looking straight up to the sky. I had no real zoom lens and I wanted the picture of the bird.

Camera: Canon 350D with default 18-55 mm lens

real or fake

The flower is fake. so is the duck in the background. It's also taken indoors. Light is totally natural.

Camera: Canon 350D with 50 mm lens (at 1.8 f I think)

Phased in time

My bro is great for taking photos of. He was moving in this very low light corridor. I might have been moving as well to keep him in frame.

Mission Impossible

Everyone will take a picture of a sparkler. It's so pretty and you get this mission impossible type feel to it.

I think it was on Program mode, can't remember any other setting.

My first camera

This camera which I inherited I will always remember, because it forced me to learn photography via the manual method.

favourite ducky

I got the brand spanking new Canon 50D camera wet taking this shot, so it's an important shot. Elizabeth in the background whacked her wet cup on my lens while I was taking the shot. I took the shot and quickly dried as much as I could with tissue and dumped the camera in the dry cabinet.
